Addressing Common Concerns About Boudoir Photos
Many people have concerns. Let's look at common issues:
Privacy and Security
Good boudoir photographers focus on client privacy. Many studios have clear privacy rules. Your photos won't be shared without permission.
Ask about their policies before booking. Make sure you feel safe.
Some studios offer password-protected online galleries. Discuss your concerns with the photographer.
Body Image Worries
Feeling self-conscious is normal. But boudoir photography celebrates all bodies. Professional photography knows how to highlight your beauty.
Remember, there's no single "ideal" body type. Your photographer will work with you to make you feel comfortable. The goal is to celebrate you.
Some people are seeking more than just looking great. They are after the whole photography experience. It's time to focus on inner beauty and confidence.
Fear of Judgment
Some worry about being judged for doing a boudoir shoot. Boudoir photos are about self-expression. You don't need to explain.
Remember, you're doing this for yourself. What others think doesn't matter. Surround yourself with supportive people. As your photographer it is my job to let you know you are in a judgement free zone. I see all the bodies so there really is not an ounce of judgement in my heart.
If you are nervous, remember the gal last week might have been more nervous at her boudoir session, so no need to feel alone. Empowering women through boudoir is common. Many people find strength.
Creative Concepts
Lingerie is a popular choice, but some explore more creative ideas. This might include themed shoots. Some are even like fantasy or cosplay.
Art nude is becoming more accepted in boudoir. This lets people explore their sensuality. It's a more personal approach.
The options for boudoir are endless artistic expressions. These shoots let people explore different aspects.

FAQs
What is boudoir photography?
Boudoir photography is an intimate style of portraiture that celebrates confidence, sensuality, and self-expression. At my Seattle boudoir studio, I guide you through poses, outfits, and expressions that highlight your beauty in a way that feels natural, empowering, and uniquely you. I have a great blog that goes more into this.
Do I have to know how to pose?
Not at all! I’ll guide you every step of the way with flattering poses that work for every body type. Think of me as your personal hype woman with a camera—I’ll show you exactly what to do with your hands, your angles, and your expressions.
What should I wear to a boudoir session?
Anything that makes you feel confident and sexy. Lingerie is popular, but bodysuits, your partner’s shirt, cozy sweaters, or even a chic dress all work beautifully. I also encourage clients to bring a mix—something romantic, something bold, and something that just feels like you.
Do you provide hair and makeup?
Yes! Professional hair and makeup are included with every session. It’s part of the experience and ensures you look polished and photo-ready while still feeling like yourself. Check out the blog on the Importance of Professional Hair and Makeup
Where does the photoshoot take place?
Sessions take place at my Seattle boudoir studio, designed with multiple sets and lighting options to create everything from soft and romantic to bold and sultry looks. Be sure to check out our dark and moody space versus our white light bright and airy space.
How long does a boudoir session last?
Hair and makeup can vary between 60-90, minutes, and then the actual photo sessions mostly last about 90 minutes, giving us plenty of time for outfit changes, different sets, and a relaxed pace that makes the experience fun instead of rushed.
Do you retouch/edit the photos?
Yes. Every image you order is hand-retouched to look polished while still natural. I remove distractions like blemishes or bruises, but I don’t alter body shapes—you’re gorgeous as you are. We can do whatever level you are looking for.
How many images will I get?
Your final gallery size depends on your collection, but most clients end up with 30–50 fully retouched images in an album, showcased as wall art or digital collection.
Can I keep my photos private?
Absolutely. Your images are 100% private unless you choose to sign a model release. Many clients prefer to keep them just for themselves (or their partner), and others what the world to see the exquisite masterpiece. It is all up to you.
Will you share my images online?
Never without your written permission. If you do allow me to share, it’s only images you personally select.
